LARGS YACHT HAVEN is just a 20-minute walk away, with SCOTTS BAR and Courtyard Bistro restaurants on site, where you can enjoy a drink and a bite to eat, along with stunning views of the marina. At the far side of the marina by the Point monument you can rejoin the coastal path through to Largs.
The historic coastal town of Largs is 2 miles north of Fairlie. You can walk via the Coastal Path, travel there by taxi, or take a bus (there is a bus stop near the entrance to Fairlie Quay, and the 585 service runs every half hour).
Largs offers many attractive shops, retail outlets, and gift emporiums, as well as some of the best Ice Cream in Scotland from the famous NARDINI’s and amazing chocolates and gifts from GERALDO’s.
Why not hop on the local ferry for a 10-minute journey from the centre of Largs to the Island of Great Cumbrae? A bus then takes you into the main town of Millport, which is home to artisan shops and bakers, and the popular bicycle hire shop so you can ride round the island and experience one of Scotland’s favourite places. This beautiful island has an array of wildlife and offers scenic walks and numerous beaches.
For large shopping centres, fashion stores and restaurants, Glasgow is only an hour away and a direct train runs hourly from either Largs or Fairlie. Ask at reception for details and timetables.
